Drayage & Containers

Container devanning and drayage support, turned fast

Every hour an import container sits loaded is per-diem, chassis rent and detention. Monarch devans floor-loaded and palletized containers around the clock, palletizes the freight to domestic standard, and gets the empty box back on the road the same day whenever the schedule allows.

Drayage carriers, importers, forwarders and customs brokers use our dock as the first stop off the port or ramp — hand-unload, count, photograph, palletize, then reload to dry van or hold the freight in storage until the domestic leg is booked.

Capabilities

Container work we handle

Floor-loaded container devanning

Hand-unload tightly packed 20ft, 40ft and 45ft containers piece by piece, with running counts and condition photos as the box comes apart.

Palletization to domestic standard

Build import freight onto pallets to your tie-and-high pattern, wrap spec and label standard so it can move as normal domestic dry van or LTL freight.

Fast container turns and street-turn support

We work containers in arrival order 24/7 so the driver is not waiting on a first-shift warehouse crew, cutting per-diem and chassis days.

Seal, count and exception documentation

Seal numbers recorded on arrival, piece counts against the packing list, overage and shortage exceptions flagged with photos and reported the same shift.

Yard and trailer staging

Drop loaded equipment and let us schedule the unload. Loaded and empty equipment can be staged while the next move gets arranged.

Storage and onward distribution

Store the devanned freight, consolidate it with other inbound, and release it to the domestic carrier when the receiver is ready — all in one building.

Questions

Drayage and containers, answered

What is container devanning?
Devanning is unloading an ocean container by hand, typically because the freight was floor-loaded overseas rather than palletized. The product is then counted, inspected and usually rebuilt onto pallets for domestic transport.
How quickly can you turn a container?
Most containers are worked in arrival order the same shift they arrive. Piece count and product type drive the exact window, which we quote by phone at (919) 601-2176 before the driver is dispatched.
Do you provide the drayage move itself?
We handle the facility side — devanning, palletization, storage and reload — and coordinate with your drayage carrier. If you need a carrier arranged, call (919) 601-2176 and we will help source one.
Can you hold the freight after devanning?
Yes. Freight can go straight into short-term or contract storage here and be released when the domestic leg is booked, so the container gets returned without waiting on the receiver.
